Contaminated Polio Virus Found in Maharashtra, Telangana And Up

 It was found that some polio vaccine made by Gaziabad based firm, contain type 2 polio virus ,it was withdrawn globally in 2016. 1.5 lakh vials have been found contaminated  with type 2polio virus.  Earlere trivalent vaccine containing type 1 2and 3 were in use but after the type 2polio virus were eradicated worldwide,government switched only bivalent vaccine. Contain type 1 and type 3 virus.  Some stools samples are collected from children reporting polio like symptoms..Samples from Allahabad tested positive for the Type 2polio virus. A health ministry board said that "There is no clarity on how to Gazuabad based firm got the type 2 virus and so the drug regulator will be testing samples from other companies too " Type 2 virus is the weakest of the three and this is not a health risk of the children.
